Where conventional strategy starts with what exists today and projects forward, Planet B starts with what must exist by 2040 and works backward. Every inherited assumption is questioned. Every constraint is tested against first principles. What remains is structural truth — and that is where strategy begins.

How Planet B Works

The methodology follows four moves, applied recursively across every challenge a leader faces:

1. Define the end state. What does success actually look like — not incrementally better, but fundamentally different? We anchor every engagement to a concrete, measurable end state that the leader or organisation is building toward.

2. Strip assumptions. What actually exists versus what you have been told is necessary? Which constraints are real and which are inherited? Most leaders operate within boundaries they never chose and have never examined.

3. Decompose to first principles. For each challenge, what becomes possible when you abandon the rules you never chose? First-principles reasoning reveals structural possibilities that incremental thinking cannot see.

4. Reverse-engineer the path. What must be built — in capability, in relationships, in infrastructure — so that the future becomes inevitable rather than aspirational?

Why This Matters Now

AI is not a tool to optimise existing strategies. It is a structural force that invalidates them. Leaders who apply yesterday's reasoning to tomorrow's challenges will build dependency where they need sovereignty, and efficiency where they need leverage.
